Dear God,
Thank You for this church family at Heritage Trail Cowboy Church. Many who come, both members and non-members, serve You by serving this church. This is a reflection of the hearts of these people. We don't belong to just a church. We all belong to Your church - Your body. You are the Head of this church, the Head of our lives, here and elsewhere.
I pray for these people. As I sit and look at these faces, my prayer is that I would be able to show my love - Your love - to them. That they might all come to understand how sincere, in my inner being, that I am about ministering to them as a whole and individually. My prayer is that somehow they will come to know You better through me, not only through my preaching, but also through my actions. By not so much what I say, as through what I do.
I pray that their hearts will catch on fire for you. That their lives will be changed. That when they see these changes. they will respond with praise and give You the glory. That they will continue to draw nearer to you so you can bless them so much more.
God, I'm not praying for a bigger church. I pray for what you have provided in Ben Wheeler so that this church will be totally, 100%, on fire for you. Not lukewarm, but on fire, so that in the coming year, much will be accomplished by MANY for Your glory.
In closing, I want to thank you, God, for giving Debbie and me another year to serve You. Much has been accomplished, but it never seems to be enough for us.
Thanks for the ones that have worked so hard this year to build this building and develop this land. This is only the beginning.
I pray that the upcoming year will be blessed for this church and these people. That our territory will be greater and that your hand will be on us to provide the wisdom, knowledge and strength to handle anything that might come our way.
John 14: 34-35, NIV: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
